Play Diary: Efe the Caravan Master and 2,500 Gold Gone

Studio play diary: Efe is a fictional character, not a real player. The game was played by our studio autoplayer; the events, figures and screens come from that run, and the telling is ours.

I set out with 4,972 gold. The Last Caravan closed on day 19. On day 24 a strange word reached me: Tarkan might be working behind my back. Even a merchant hears whispers.

Speed

Trade reached 50 on day 58. By day 84 I had 8 troops and 12,051 in net worth. Then my troops dwindled, and I reached day 252 with none.

The price

On day 150 bandits caught me: 2,521 gold gone, retreat to Khazmir. Five days later the horde began burning the lands around Vostok. On day 176 ten fish rotted too.

Tip: Do not cut guards in good times. They are not a cost, they are insurance.

I finished with 14,998 in cash and 19,749 in net worth, four times my start. I also scattered a band of 11 on day 216.

Tip: Fish is among the fastest cargo to spoil. Buy at the port and sell at once.
