Play Diary: Duke Arda and the Famine Year

Studio play diary: Arda is a fictional character, not a real player. The game was played by our studio autoplayer; the events, figures and screens come from that run, and the telling is ours.
I took the ducal coronet with 162,506 in holdings. On day 1 I scattered a band of 15 and Rochefort rejoiced. Small work for a duke, big news for the people.

War next door
On day 34 Dravik came under siege; on day 37 Wren took it for Sylvar, and 12 people fled the city. Here the borders move while you sleep.
Tip: Follow news of neighboring towns. A fallen border town tells you who may be next.
Famine
Famine struck on day 154: granaries emptied and prices soared until day 194. In Council, opening the granaries or profiteering is your call.
Tip: Pick your crisis stance early. Open granaries feed the people, profiteering feeds your purse, and both have a price.

Leadership reached 75 on day 200. I ended day 252 with 283,131 in cash, 20 troops, 969 renown and 383,820 in net worth. The throne no longer looks far away.
